Most tours begin in Victoria, the island’s largest city and the capital of British Columbia. Custom start locations can also be arranged, do not hesitate to reach out at any time to begin planning your unique getaway. Participants should be prepared for light hiking and have all personal necessities for day hikes/excursions. Most locations are accessed through short walks or hikes with little elevation gain. Good footwear is essential, dressing in layers is strongly recommended and a hard shell jacket is a must, especially during the rainy winter season.
Vancouver Island’s climate is categorized as Mediterranean or Oceanic with warm dry summers and mild winters. The weather varies from mostly sunny in the summer (April – September) to overcast with downpours in the winter (October – March). Temperatures are generally mild year round, with average highs of 72F (22C) in the summer and lows of 34F (1C) in the winter. Due to the rain shadow effect, there are significant variations in cloud cover and rainfall depending where one is on the island, so it is always best to be prepared for unexpected weather.
The price for one-on-one instruction is $900 USD per day, with a maximum of 3 people. Larger groups are charged on a per-person basis. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, lodging and food. All bookings are final and cancellations are non-refundable.
